As Jim Bounds so eloquently described, chassis rot is definitely present on
our coaches.

It's regrettable I missed it before purchase, but I was looking at sooooo
many *other* things at the same time (and not knowing what I was looking at
;=((.

I'm not looking forward to replacing whole frame assemblies. However
something needs to be done soon to ours soon due to many years of neglect,
chassis/systems. Don't have the tools, shop, hoist or pit, body lifts,
etc etc. I have some knowledge and experience in mech & machining
(retired GMer w/precision machining background), but no facilities or
resources.

Strictly a condo/driveway project, and therein lies the rub. When winter
comes, all bets are off, with another chassis rusting cycle to contend
with. But then again, the wife loves it ;=)) over the truck chassis RVs
we've been shopping..... she especially likes the co=pilot seat '=)))

I'll bounce some ideas off y'all friendly folks on the GMC-Net list soon.

Thanks to all for your informative posts!!!

As always, best regards.

several places will repair it, Buskirks (about $4000) also Alex Sirum,
Golbys, adn Cinnabar. It is a lot of work and dangerous for a
do-it-yourselfer unless you have experieince and tools.
