Changing windshields & dash repair

Netters,

I'm having my windshields removed today in preparation of the installation
of new ones being installed next Tuesday.

While they are out I want to re-glue the portion of dash pad that is in
front of the passenger side. It has slightly lifted where it meets the hard
plastic filler piece that meets the windshield. It's actually a vinyl
covered piece of foam. Any suggestions as to the best adhesive to use? I
thought about "liquid nails" construction adhesive as I could squirt it
under the edge and block it down until it cures. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Tony - I would highly recommend a polyurethane glue made by Borden's
called ProBond. I bought it in an 8 oz. plastic squeeze bottle at
Home Depot.

I have tried contact cement but it didn't hold. So far this
polyurethane glue is holding well.

Walter Drew has taken apart his vapor/liquid separator and used JB
Weld to glue it back together. It didn't hold. I then suggested
ProBond and he has told me that it has been holding well for many
months now.

I also use this product on wood. When I put in a butcher block top
for my GMC kitchen sink I used this to glue the wood. The bottle
says it "bonds virtually everything: metal, leather, wood, ceramic.
brick, stone, glass and most plastics to themselves and to each
other".

Parts must be clamped together for 1 to 4 hours. Also it requires
moisture to cure so you should dampen the area to be glued with a
damp cloth before spreading the glue.

I would suggest weighting the padding down with a sandbag or a bag of
flour or something else to hold it down while the glue cures.
