Anyone have any tricks for removing the door hinge pins....mine are toast but have been in there since the coach is new. Heat im sure would work but
it will scorch the paint...we use to use an air-chisel at the dealership when we did them on cars but the hinge on a car is much different than the
coach...suggestions from those that have done it?

The hinges on the Chevrolet Suburban with the doors that swing to each side are identical to the GMC Motothome. So if you need new hinges check with a Chevrolet dealer parts department.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

I don’t know for sure but I just looked at a picture of a 1977 on the Internet and it looks right.

Emery, I have been looking for Rob Mueller a set to put a door on drivers side so it would open correctly instead of backwards. I had heard the rear
door Suburban hinges were the same but my 1978 model are different. They look close but on my 78 the part that bolts to body is straight and on the
GMC it is offset. Probably anyone as talented as Rob could re work them but I was looking for a bolt on solution.

The air chisel should still work on the GMC hinge pins. And the pins and
bushings I bought out of the Dorman "Help" section at a parts store have
worked for the past 15 years or so.

A lot of your favorite penetrating solution, and the heat from a heat gun
can't hurt either.

Jon approx how far in does one drill? If that was a bolt ome would go through to the other end...

> Drill a small hole in bottom of
> Pin. Use a sharp point in air chisel.
