Ceiling Fan Vent for bathroom

How about the fan in the bathroom or our '76 Palm Beach? The cover is
cracked. Where do we get a replacement for that. I think it's original,
but not sure. The manual doesn't show that type (looks the sort of like
the other 2 fans in the coach. That is it opens with a crank and has 2
speeds. I've looked for them at the RV dealers and they don't have anything
that comes close.

Should I call Cinnabar?

There is a replacement fan that is 6 inches in diameter that fits perfectly in
the round hole of the original in the bathroom. Your RV dealer can get it from
Coast distributors. Of course I can't find my coast catalogue right now to give
you a part # but the fan is a good replacement. It has a push up cover and a
single speed switch. It is a one hand operation and even looks good. It cost me
$37.00 Canadian. Hope this helps you. Good luck. Darren

Richard, it definately is not original. The original bath fan in the pre
1978's was a wimpy little thing about 5-6" dia. and had a pull down
handle to open or close. The only good thing about it was you could leave
fully open in a typhoon and not worry about it letting water in.

My suggestion would be to replace whatever rascal you have in there now
with a Fantastic Vent. I have 3 in my coach, two with the rain sensor
butt the one in the bath is a down and dirty cheap model as I don't care
if the bathroom gets wet. I think I paid about $127 at Camping World and
had Alex Sirum GMC install it for a few more farthings! If you go that
way, you will be pleased with the skylight effect.

There is one problem with putting a Fantastic Vent in the bath room. When
you set the control on slowest speed, exhaust-it will pull the door shut
and latch it! That sucker has a strong draw. I would be afraid to set it
to the highest speed as it might suck my windshields inward! [g[

Thanks for the info. I have 2 Fantastic vents in the other parts of our
coach. One with rain sensor and the other without. They seem to work pretty
well. I'll look into putting a 3rd Fantastic in the bath.

When my bath fan went out, I put in a fantastic. It is great as it lets in the
light during the day, vents out automatically, and works beautifully. Cutting
out the hole was easy as it was between the ceiling supports. Consider that
for your replacement.
