Has anyone mounted and used a Catalytic heater in place of a fan powered
heater in their GMC? How did it work for you and where did you mount it? I
have a place to put it in my sob but don't know where it would work in my
Avion.

I only use vented units using outside combustion air. Besides the CO danger you have acidic combustion moisture inside the coach.

We've used a Big Buddy for years.  We keep a roof vent cracked a bit.  Have never had a problem.Sent from my U.S.Cellular© Smartphone

I have used a big buddy for supplemental heat.

I set it on a cookie sheet on the engine hatch. Crack toll windows.

There is a specified venting requirement. They work but hard to get heat to travel far. It also will create moisture.

I have never used it much, maybe for 2-3 days at a time max.

Dean, I have a Camco wave-6 catalytic heater installed next to the entry door in the side of the refrigerator cabinet. It works well for keeping the
coach comfortable during the day in very cold or freezing temperatures. It is not a substitute for a forced air furnace, it will not heat the coach
to comfortable temperature from a cold condition. I never use the catalytic heater at night and it will create moisture inside the coach, but it
doesn’t take any electric power to operate and maintains a comfortable temperature.

Dean,
My Birchaven has a catalytic heater mounted in the side of the cabinet right at the door, looks to be OEM. Takes a while to heat up the coach, but it
works great to take the chill off.
