Arch,

Those last digits are not part of the part number.

70 is the primary jet
50D is the primary metering rod
CJ is the secondary metering rod
V is the primary rod hanger

You're good to go.

You might want to consider the carb rebuilder that Paul Bartz used. He was
very pleased with the result. Don't remember the name, but if you're
interested, maybe he'd be kind enough to post it one more time.

I rebuilt my own also. The only downside is if the airhorn is warped -
fairly common(mine is - living with it for now, but either a replacement air
horn or carb is on the short list). The guys that specialize in these
things usually have a boneyard of old ones for spare parts. Order some 72
primary jets(part no. 7031972) to compensate for enleanment while your in
there.

Yep - get out your reading glasses. You can read the primary jet number
on the top of the jet. The rod numbers are etched on the side of the rod(I
had to stand outside on a sunny day to see this). Back in May, I talked to
a Mondello tech rep that recommended you go up two jet sizes if you're not
changing cams. So, if you're gonna' call Mondello anyway, see what he
recommends if you are changing cams.

It's: A&G Carburetor, 6136 W Roosevelt, Oak Park IL 60304, 708-386-9804.

I was very impressed with their customer service. I called them a half
dozen times asking questions and they always carefully answered/explained
everything to my satisfaction.

I sent my carburetor via UPS on a Monday and had it back on Friday of that
week.

Although they told me I would have to final adjust the idle speed and idle
mixture, I've never touched either yet, and that was back in Sep 1996.

As I recall, ~ $139.00.

They use a leather accelerator pump, sealed the bowl plugs with epoxy, and
include a spare needle and bowl gasket. Their 8-step washing process got
the exterior so clean and shinny that you could eat off of it. I thought
they sprayed something on it.

Although my records are at home so I can't verify it now, I believe they
even included a new choke vacuum pull-off pot in the deal.

How much $$$$$$ for rebuild.
 
I think I'd go ahead and use the 72 primaries. IIRC, these engines were
designed to run a little lean in the 70's and with today's reformulated
fuels, I can't see that two jet sizes would hurt a thing. Worst case, it
could be a little rich, but I doubt it will be.

That's completely seat of my pants, but it's what I'd do,

Arch,

The only motorhome difference in the QJet is the jet and rod sizes. Got my
rebuild kit from Dick Paterson at Myrtle Beach. It was a standard Delco
package. I'll get the number off the box tonight.

The kit is ACDelco Part No. 17076057, $25 from Paterson at Myrtle
Beach.
