Someone asked me what's a good fuel pump for our GMC's. I like the Carter 4070. But I can't find the GM recommended PSI. Bob Dunahugh

Bob,
When I built my first full electric fuel system eliminating the Mechanical
pump I used a E8090

I used that pump numbered pump for over 11 years without any problems. It
is a 5 to 8 psig pump.

The P4070 pump is a very good pump that I have also used with success too.
It is also rated for a 4 - 8 psig outlet pressure.

Use a 15 amp fuse to power the pump. Be sure to use a low oil pressure
switch to cut off the pump in event of engine shut off. I have also
attached the design of the fuel control system that I designed when I built
my first electric fuel pump setup.

It also includes a primer circuit. As for the pressure switch us can use
any of the following.

My carter 4070 put out 6 psi, but it still lifted the needle on the float, I had to put on a regulator and knock it down to 4 psi.
