Along these lines, John Beaver told me he would build the engine back with the crankshaft that came out of it ground ten under but didn't really like
the idea. The engine has a new crankshaft. Worth the extra to not have to R & R it again.
The shiny new Beaver's Racing Engines 455 now reposes in the engine room of my coach, all the mounts and bolts in place, none of them torqued yet. It
actually goes back easier than it came out, probably because I was looking for the sticking points going back. Filter mount, water pump, final drive
mount plate, etc. Anyway, it's in the coach. Nothing left to do but reinstall every bracket. Clean up the wiring for the MSD Atomic injection.
Replace a bunch of little hoses. Replace the radiator and all that mount on it. Etc. I have a piece of artwork I was going to have printed on a
decal to go under "FOOLISH CARRIAGE" which is lettered on the front sides. It's a WWII (the BIG one) B-17 nose are of a voluptuous gal nude
reclining, and I added a sign she's holding over her middle strategically with "BEAVER POWER" on the sign. Mr. John said his wife would disown him,
so I didn't use it. I'll cook up something more reasonable. If it does half as well in the coach as it did on the test stand, my engine worries are
gone.
Meantime, I have to get Chuck Boyd's trolley back to him. Is anybody in Tallahassee going back via I 75 past Atlanta and up to or past or close to
Knoxville who might be able to carry it?
