Likely so. We bought one of the x.10 cameras and links that
someone pointed out here for about $50. It is 4.2 GHz IIRC.
It is not a particularly low light camera, but worked OK as
a rear-view/backing aid. Both camera/transmitter and
receiver are 12V units, but they came with 115VAC wall
warts. We didn't expect much for the price, but have been
pleasantly surprised.
We duct-taped the camera to an overhead bin in back of the
motorhome, so it could look over the trailer for one short
trip. We have also used it look out the rear hatch of the
race car, sitting at the very back of an open trailer.
I didn't do anything about left/right mirror image reversal,
and that was fairly confusing at times.
In town, radio reflections would occassionally cause the
received picture to tear, jump, or blink, but we were not
very careful about antenna aiming, and I'm sure we could
improve on that.
Seems like a nice toy, and not having to run video cable is
a plus. Also, we can run the camera from a cig lighter
socket at the back of one trailer, or from the cig socket in
my race car (Mazda spec RX7).
My 15-year-old quarter-midget driver thinks it could be a
wonderful thing, since the backing monitor for the last 7
years has consisted of him and a radio.
