Calling cards can be very expensive to use. You pay up front a certain
amount and then make your calls over their network. They charge you for
the use. This makes sence for people who do not have a home base
telephone number to use the LD calling card issued by that LD company.
Perhaps better yet, would be a cel phone, if you do a lot of calling.

I have been using a card from Sam's Club. 120 minutes for $17.00 and I
have refilled it by phone several times at USD0.09/minute each time.
There is a payphone charge of two units but you pay that regardless of
whose card you use. (In the USA, anyway)

Hey Mikey, I gave up on calling cards. They cost money and I am a cheap
penny pinching tightwad. Some many moons ago, someone on this net posted a
message about www.broadpoint.com free long distance phone service. I signed
up and no longer have a long distance phone bill. You can use it on any pay
phone or anyone's home phone in any state. You don't even have to deposit
35 cents in the pay phones. The catch is, you have to listen to twenty
second advertisements, for each 20 second advertisement you listen to, you
get 2 minutes of free talk time. Now, who in their right mind would want to
talk to you for more than 4 minutes. Save yourself some money and "that's a
good thing."

Hi Jim
Thats right. I use broadpoint for alot of my long distance calls..I told my
brothers about it..They looked
at the site and said it was too long of a wait to get there access
code...go figure..a month later they still
get the bill...LOL all the way to the bank..
I have used up my alloted time one month..thats 2hrs of
talk time. I also got 30min phonecard online for free
tonite..Had to fill out a survey..Answer no to any
questions about kids/activitys/future purchases...
Keeps the junk email away! The phonecard is a diffrent
site..Anyone want it let me know..It is actavated online
right after you take a short survey.

Thank you one and all (a little Seasonal talk) for the response to
my info request on Long Distance Calling Cards.
I am in the process of following up all leads, and there were
many :-)

Thanks again
