I've known about Calfee for decades from their pioneering carbon fiber bicycle frames. Today I learned that their company show vehicle is a totally customized GMC Transmode. Would love to see it in person.

@Kendra Calfee brought his GMC to Burning Man a few years ago, did you see it there?

@Jim (Jericho Brew) He was set up at Home Brew Camp. 600 gallons of home brew. Gotta meet the guy!

I didn't see Calfee's GMC, but this is a city of 60k-80k. Impossible to see everything within a week, and then everything vanishes. 90 second video.

To get an idea of scale, here's Black Rock City superimposed over Manhattan. Burning Man includes 7 square miles (18 sq km) of sculptures and other art which would cover a chunk of Central Park.

I went in '98 when it was much smaller, only ~35K. Much cozier.

I'm going to contact the guy and see if, as I suspect, he's a BM regular, and where else he'll be bringing the GMC this year.

Nice to see a 1500w solar panel installation operating. This array is 1,470w with awning solar reflectors. Also good to see a mini-split vac.
