Bill, the 79 ElDorado isn't of much value for parts for the GMC; in fact,
hardly any of it will work. 78 was the last of the "big" eldos and
torpedos...they use the same transmission, cv joints, suspension parts, etc.
The 79 was the first of the "little" ones that used the 325 transmission and
350 engine so very little commonality.

The gem in the cars is the 83 olds diesel. If it has a 350DX block it can
be made into one of the strongest and most potent engines you can put in the
GMC motorhome. It has a forged crank and all the goodies you could want.
Mondello sells the complet4e kit to convert it. Will bolt right up to the
TH425 tranny.

Yes it does with step by step instructions and parts. I have the complete
procedure. Am told it can produce 500 HP on pump gas with the right cam and
fuel injection
