I don't think it's quite the same. Pulling the sides in and fastening them to
the cabinets in effect re-bows the ribs in that area and reinforces them in
their original configuration.

If it's distortion of the front rib that causes the cap to have middle age
spread, pulling in the spread there won't affect the rib -- the fiberglass
simply isn't strong enough to telegraph the forces back to it. It would be
interesting to put a come-along across at the rib and watch what happened to the
cap bulge as the rib was re-curved -- I'd bet on it decreasing.

Whose wife will agree to a permanent screen door brace (threaded rod &
turnbuckle) permanently located across the coach at about 12" above the cockpit
floor just behind the seats? Maybe we can sell it as a place to hang doilies --
SHE will find a way to put pillows on it. :-)

That is exactly what I did before the rally. I had already talked to Gene prior to the rally and did the driver's side since I already had the inside panel off. The passenger is not bowed badly on mine.



The bolts are left in place and I cut them off flush with the nuts prior to replacing the inside panel. The bolts were 10-32 or 10-24 3 inch long stainless purchased at Lowes in the hardware section.



It did not take much tightening of the bolts to pull in the side. That is why he told me to stainless nuts with the nylon locks built in to them. Anything else might come loose over time. There was not enough tension on the bolts to use lock or star washers.

Greetings,, I got to quickly check ours while getting a brief reprieve
from IRS duties, while getting the trash cans I was able to look down the
side rails, left side is straight all the way down before curving inward
near the LF seat, right side appears the same however the awning rails are
in the way, so can't say for sure. After getting a good wash with WD-40 the
door closes smoothly also, to the point of having to yell at my girls not
to slam it shut, (was outnumbered 3 to 1, now only 2, got oldest off to
college).
