Burned valve

Well, just came in from pulling driver's side head. Thought I had a
stuck valve after a compression check revealed 30# on #5 cylinder. Not
so. Everything pointed to a burned exhaust valve and that's what it
was. I am wondering if the exhaust crossover has anything to do with
this valve deterioration or not. Everything else that I can see looks
good; engine has 66K, minimal wear in cylinders (no ridge, can still see
hone lines, 150# compression on all other cylinders, etc.), intake
manifold looks good-no cracks. My question is now that I have gone this
far, what else should I do to upgrade, prevent future problems, etc? I
remember discussions about blocking the exhaust crossover but wasn't too
interested then. I haven't pulled the other head yet and don't know if
I need to. What do you-all think? BTW, there was a bunch of crusted
oil down in the galley in the area of #5 & #7 that has to be because of
the extreme heat in the manifold.
Waiting for expert advice...
