If you are like me and occasionally suffer temporary alcohol induced lapses of judgement while camping, I highly recommend seeking out 1% silver silvadene cream and putting it in your 1st aid kit.

This stuff is unbelievable. It used to be by prescription but it looks like it's over the counter now. I'll spare you photos of my burn, but suffice to say there was alcohol involved, and a campfire. It's only been a few days and it's looking pretty good already.

All I can say is, it works. Takes the pain away and makes the burn heal a lot faster. This stuff, plus good bandaids or gauze plus tape and you'll be a lot happier.

FYI - Silver Silvadene is a brand name of the generic silver sulfadiazine.

Todd,
The 1% silver seems to be hard to find. The 0.1% (100PPM) is very available.
I'm going to keep looking.
Matt

I'm sorry, maybe it is still by prescription only.

Last time I had a somewhat decent burn I went to the doctor just to score a new tube of it. It was worth the visit, and I got her to increase the size of the prescription to a bigger tube.
