I am working on a gmc. It seems to be loosing brake fluid on the rear brakes. In this case:

80mm front.
Lenzi mid brakes
Rear stock drums.

So the brake lines are swapped. The reservoir closest to the booster is the one going down/dry. Over a period of months. History I have is 2024 brakes were bad and he brought it in and they “bled brakes”. It was fine last year. But now after sitting this winter again the reservoir closest to booster went empty.

There is ZERO sign of fluid loss.

I am assuming the rear cylinders are leaking.. and the brake shoes and drum is absorbing what fluid might be leaking out. I filled up the master cylinder and bled brakes. Drove it an hour back to my house. And the brake level seems to not have moved.

I have the drums off and I am thinking they dont look like much is leaking. But always hard to know for sure.

I am going to replace the rear cylinders regardless.

My question is if the rear seal in master cylinder could be an issue? Would just one reservoir go down or both? And one would think the booster would show some corrosion or wetness?

This brake system cant be 10 years old? Time flys but i am pretty sure all the booster and master were new when we did the lenzi brakes.

Trying to decide if I should change the master cylinder just to be sure?

I would call Dave Lenzi lol. Mostly just b/c he's awesome to talk to :)

But seems like it must be going somewhere. And if you can't see it leaking somewhere then it must be going into the booster. I do believe I've heard of that happening.

Good time to swap over to Lenzi's sensitized booster and matched m/c :)

I'm good at spending your $ lol
