"I need a replacement part number for the boot on the
top end of the steering shaft. Also, if there is anything
I need to know about removal and replacement of this
part, that would be good."

Bill I just bought mine from Cinnibar. $9.90 US (if I
remember correctly)

Arch reported a Napa number that worked for him.

The upper shaft is connected to the lower shaft
immediately above the boot. That is where I split it.

Six 1/4" bolts are used (7/16" wrench size).

The bolts on mine were very tight and there is not
much room for wrenches. I found the best tools
were a 6 point socket on a 1/4" drive ratchet.

Once the bolts were removed the shaft slides up (splines
below) and out.

Washed and repacked the joint and back together it went.

On mine the tabs from the metal straps securing the
bolts remained in good shape and I was able to
reuse them.

If Arch reads this, could you let me have the NAPA part number for the
steering shaft boot?

Arch,

There's a picture on your PhotoPoint site that shows the box with the NAPA
