A couple of weeks ago The Stretch blew a tire on the driver's side rear. Did a good deal of damage to the fender flare and generator door. That
damage is in process to repair, but I am left with a problem that has me stymied. The disintegrating tire cut off the bogie greasers flush with the
end of the suspension pins. Have extracted the threaded portion of the greaser, but I cannot access the piece of copper tubing which extends into the
pin to grease the inner portion. Have probed with a piece of safety wire and found that one is about 2 inches in and the other about 3 inches in.

I quickly ran out of ideas about how to extract them. Any ideas will be appreciated.

John
I broke one off and I got it out by bending the end of a stiff wire (less than a 1/8”) pushing it into the tube and hooking the inside edge and pulling it out.

Use a long screw on the end of a slide hammer. Screw it into the tubes, and
give a couple of strokes on the slide hammer. Should come out easily.

Thanks Emery & Jim. Sometimes my brain needs a little nudge to get it working again! Right now I am comparing a 5" galvanized deck screw to a
replacement greaser and think it will be my weapon of choice. It will have to wait a few days till I get the coach back from the body shop. I'll
report on the outcome later.

Thanks again, John
