Black sewer pipe for RV use. The Black, and White aren't the same.

The black plastic pipe is more suited for use in RV applications then the standard white PVC. As I recall. It handles vibration better. Thus it's not just a color thing. It's out there. Just will take extra searching. Bob Dunahugh

Scott. Glad you signed up. For me. It's been a bit of a love/ dislike relationship. Not hate. But I'd do it again. The Royales are great. As you have more options. I made mine so I can dump just the black. Ore just the gray. When dumping both. I use the gray last as a rinse. Also I can dump with the 3" hose. Or the macerator. The main reason that I have the 3". Is that I can fill the black tank with lots of fresh water for a rinse. Then open the 3" for a stronger/faster final rinse. I also put a rinse spray nozzle in the black tank to create more turbulence during the dump/rinse. I've checked the black tank with an inspection camera. It gets really clean. The Bob Done-a-hug

The black pipe is called ABS. It uses a different solvent than the PVC to glue pieces together.

My local Home Depot carries it and even sells shirt pieces such as 2 foot which is handy fo RV work. The normal size they sell is 10 foot.

I'm with Bob D, when it comes to having two seperate tanks.
All the SOB's have seperate gray and black.
Dump the black first, followed by the gray to remove the solids and smell.
If GMC was your first rv, then your in the dark as you assume that that's
the oly way.
Again, it is the Automotive Arrigance that influnced one tank and float.

I can only live with separate gray and black water tanks for a very
fundamental reason: In 60+ years of RVing, I've only once had a tank level
gauge I could trust -- and it ain't in the GMC. That means that from time
to time there will be gray water puddled in the shower! ( I can't
imagine having black, even gray diluted, water do that!

Go to a RV dealer store for 1 1/4 pipes and fitttings. We stock several.
