"Hi Roger
I ran across some GMC'ers who told me, "If you're
not an owner get off the Black List"

Take me off the list and I will let you know when I am an Owner.

Keep up the good work

X"

I just received this letter, name removed protecting the innocent. I told
him I would remove his name as requested, some time. {:>) Maybe!!

Using this reasoning, then the proverbial Professional Wannabe (me) would
have to be removed from the list also. Do think it would upset me enough
that I would take the Black List with me though. Not really, as the list is
my way of giving back to the netters when I don't have much to offer in the
way of GMC information. That's how the Black List was born. People, not
just owners, who will assist an owner in trouble in an unknown area. It is
clearly stated in my "invitation," who the list is open to. "We have a GMC
list of owners/supporters who are making themselves available for what ever
assistance they can offer to other GMC'ers on the road traveling." is the
first line in the letter. Note "owners/supporters" includes wannabes and
just anybody with good intentions.

Now, if owners want to eliminate wannabes from the list, please step forward
and I will send you my copies of the Black List for you to maintain and you
can change the name to Owners Support List ONLY and this wannabe will just
disappear into the woodwork with the others. Maybe I'll return after I no
longer am a wannabe, maybe not.

It's your call, you, who are owner's AND who are on the Black List. Can we
wannabe's be of assistance or not? Owners? Not on the list? Then why not?
It's your list. No excuse for not being on it unless you don't want to help
someone else.

Hi Roger

I am sorry the member and you received this message.

This is real Bull Shit.

We ran into this at a Rally, and we absolutely refused to be a part of this
discrimination. Discrimination is the same where ever you run into it. If
friends and wannabes cannot go neither will I.

Scott,
Think you read it wrong. The emailer doesn't own a coach and true blue
owners "suggested" he does not belong on the list, whether he is looking for
one or just a lurker. And nope, I don't know who the "owners" are. Don't
want to know.

Roger
PS, thanks for the ownership part of the 75/PB

Hey if I'm stuck somewhere and need some help, I'll be happy to find a
sympathizer, whether or not they are an "owner". It would seem to be any one
willing to go out of there way to help a GMC'er belongs on the list.

I could care less who owns one or wants to help someone. Keep them in the list
as far as I am concerned. if they know of a good place to get work done,
what's the difference if they have a coach to show... no problem with me.

I fail to see how membership in any club has anything to do with Rogers
Black list! It is a club on its own with Roger in charge setting all the
rules. It is a great idea and I wish I had the comfort of it over the last
14 years although I only needed it once. Keep it going please.

Emery,
My mistake. My local club, the Mountainaires, does require GMC
ownership,
even requiring current members to resign if they go over one year without a
GMC. I never liked that rule much, but the other members felt it necessary
to maintain the focus of the club. Guess I recalled the debate on the
topic
and projected it onto other GMC clubs. Thanks for setting me straight.

Only requirements are being of the human race, although pets are acceptable,
and interest in the safety and health of those traveling in GMC's.

It will remain so.

Skippy the Dog is already on the list, I believe. If not, please add him.

I see no reason why help should not be accepted from anyone who is willing=
=20
to give it. The idea that someone who has an interest in GMC's, but does=20
not yet own one, can not be of help if I am stranded somewhere is just=20
plane ridculious.

I wouldnt expect everyone on the list to be a technical expert. Just having=
=20
knowledge of the local area and being willing to lend a hand, offer a ride=
=20
or a place to work or just moral support would be valuable enough to me if=
=20
I where the one stranded or having problems in a strange place.

I suppose, if enough people have a problem with non-owners being on the=20
list, maybe you could identify them as such. But, in my mind, it would be a=
=20
useless excercise. The list already says a lot about what each person has=20
to offer and, like I said, I will gladly accept help from someone who=20
offers, regardless of their ownership status.

There is always someone who wants to make the club an exclusive one (even=20
if its not their club). Its too bad these things have to happen. Sometimes=
=20
human nature is so sad....

Hmm, I thought the purpose of the list was for GMCnetters to help other
GMCnetters. I guess it was understood(at least to me) that the =
stranded
coach would be a GMC, but I don't see why even that would be a =
requirement.
To me it's more an issue of the GMCnet community helping each other. =
If a
GMCnetter calls me requesting help, I'm not going to ask if he's =
driving a
GMC. I'm just gonna' respond the best I can given the circumstances at =
the
time. By the same token, if I'm stranded, I'm not gonna' ask the guy =
on the
other end of the phone connection if he owns a GMC. I'm lookin' for =
help
and anything I get is better than what I started with.

Let's use some common sense here, OK?

Patrick,
You are right, the no SOB's is tongue in cheek. If confusing, then I will
remove it. No one that I know of cares whether a netter is in the GMC or
not. I don't see a netter, on your fine GMC Net, refusing to help anyone
else on the net due to what they may be driving. At least I'm counting on
someone helping me if the wife's land yacht goes on the blink and I do have
the list with me any time I travel.

Your net is composed of friends and that's the way I think you have nurtured
it. Nobody is left out if they just love the GMC. Same with the Black
List. It's among friends without regard to anything else. I'm not going to
take anyone off unless THEY want to remove their name. Not because anyone
else thinks someone should be removed.

The reason I put it to the net was to show the persons involved what the
list is really for, and the netters came through as expected. As friends.

Enough of the Black List for now, just join and no need for further comments
regarding the wannabe issue. Get back to the real issue THE GMC!!!!!
