As one who never accesses Facebook, I failed to look at my wife's iPhone
yesterday on my 79th birthday. Many of my GMC friends posted birthday
greetings to me. Thank all of you who did post there, this is a great group
of people who care about and take care of each other. Like no other group
that I have been associated with in my life. Again, profound thank yous all
around.
Recent hospitalizations have reminded me of the fleeting nature of
our lives, once again. But, I am doing well, down to 175 pounds, got all
the fluid off, and my hemoglobin and iron levels back up where they should
be.
Spent much of yesterday improving my vocabulary skills while
replacing the water inlet valves in our Kenmore clothes washer. What a
major pain.
Live each day to the fullest, for tomorrow is a promise to no one.

Happy birthday, Jim! I'm not sure tackling a washing machine at age 79 is living life to the fullest but I agree with the sentiment. Glad to hear
your health is getting back to where it should be.

All the best to you, Jim. Happy to hear you're doing well. Did you finally beat the washer into submission? Heck of a way to spend your birthday.

Spent the day with the Kenmore, you say. It could have been worse, if you
weren't able to do it yourself and had to pay someone $60 an hour to make
twice the mess you did lol

Happy Birthday Jim, hopefully there are still 25 or 30 more on the horizon!

I feel like a pup at a mere 72, but I also don’t facebook.
As a lurker that gets more and more informed on what to look for with my coach, I owe you a great debt for your willingness to share your knowledge. If I had half as much experience with my coach as I have with my Kenmore washer I’d be posting as much as you. But then my Kenmore doesn’t go down the road very well and I suspect it’s a pain to sleep in.
Very happy birthday wishes to you and safe journeys.
Doug

Jim,

I heartens me that one can still improve one's vocabulary skills at age 79.
I was beginning to think I was getting a little narrow in my terminology
just now, trying to wrestle bogies into bogie frames, and I'm only 61. I
got three of them into the frames and loaded with grease, but started
repeating myself before I'd gotten through the first one.

Happy Birthday!

I prevailed over the Kenmore. Lots of those plastic twist tabs through
stamped out die holes in the sheet metal back panel. All have to fit in
sequence. Quite a learning experience. Lots of razor sharp sheet metal to
cut your knuckles on. The old Maytags with the mercury switches in the lid
were much more user friendly. Just pull off the top and all the stuff was
right there. But, we went out to a very nice restaurant, had dinner and
drinks. A good day with a great lady.

She's a great lady cos she didn't correct your dictionary additions! Happy Birthday if I didn't say so on FB. And I just did the inlets (six
solenoids) on our LG washer. At least they were accessible - although a couple of the hose clips weren't.
