Tom, the front bearing puller tool arrived today. It is a really nice
looking piece of work. I know you put a lot of time into this project
and it is really appreciated. Now to read up on how to use it from
Wes' article.

Rick thanks for the compliment. My friend does nice work for sure and it is
good enough to be on a snap on truck but at a sears tool price. I still
can't believe that we can get a tool of that quality made for the price we
are getting it for.
Brings up an important point and the reason that i went to the effort to
make these. We have a very unique motorhome and each of us should maintain
them with the idea that it will someday be passed to someone else for their
pleasure. This coach is already a classic.

It is impossible to properly maintain these coaches witout a bearing puller.
Even a simple job like turning the brake rotors requires the bearings to be
removed and than to be pushed back on. Even if you cannot do the work your
mechanic will need this tool to properly service your coach. This will be
the best money you ever spent on your coach.

EVen you Arch need one of these tools o keep in your coach in case of
breakdown on the road. It could save everyone expensive repairs to hubs and
knuckles from using chisels and torches. Dont think so ask Ritch Hwang what
he found when servicing his. And mine were butchered to by someone that
took ones off previously with a chisel and god knows what else.

I really do not care if anyone else buys one,but think that anyone that does
not will be sorry later. If production picks back up in the near future at
my friends shop no way of knowing if we could ever have them made for that
price.

Sorry to hear of your uncle's problems. I have one of Tom's pullers and the
927 OTC. Also have disassembled hubs and knuckles on my coach. I do have
some tools here, but the big stuff for front axle nuts is in Phoenix.

I tried e-mailing you direct but your ISP and my ISP apparently do not get
along, at least that is the error message that I get. I also tried to send
this to the GMCNET a couple of days ago but never did see it in the digest
nor did I get returned mail on it.

When you have a minute, I realize you are fighting with electrons and
bits of computer code

In regard to our new Warner Puller and OTC Whatsit:
Either Lee (or if he is not available) someone else that has done this
before.... What else are we now entitled to go buy, since we saved so
much on the first two tools?

I gather since many of us don't have super large sockets and breaker
bars with 1 inch drives etc., we can feel that we are really getting
this extra stuff almost free! (Scott, are you paying attention to
this thread)?

Many of us carry a steel spare so would need both sockets. Also, how about the
air bag nut, 1 1/8" IIRC.

A cheap solution for the appropriate tools/socket's is a 14 piece =BE" =
drive
socket set (including a case) that Farm and Fleet sells. On sale it's
~$40.00.

I don't know if this is what you are talking about but Campers Choice
carries a beautiful telescoping breaker bar with about a 14 inch lug nut
bar that has a 1 inch and a 1 1/16 inch lug nut size at each end then if
you want a different size wrench you can go to a auto parts and also buy a
wrench that has a 7/8 and 15/16 inch at each end, that is about 14 inches
long.

Scott,
Why not go with a clicker type torque wrench instead of a breaker. Thats
what I did. Got a cheapie ($20 one from Princess Auto) that goes to
140ft/lbs and works great on the lugs. You should torque them anyway. Also
got a set of impact sockets for $20 and now I can do lugs, axles or
whatever. Now all I nned is a 12v torque wrench to go along with the my hook
plate and bottle jack and I'll be set.

BTW, have you heard any news on the pumps?

Scott Harbor freight has a 3/4 ", 0 to 300' torque wrench for 59.99 that I
have been watching for awhile waiting for it to go on sale. Sounds like something
I should have but hate to pay reg price. Know of anything better?
