Arch, Where are you. We need the Myth Man on the job again.

All of the following, in theory, is undoubtedly correct, hwoever, I can
tell you I have run hundreds of thousands of miles without this inner
door and never had a problem. Maybe I will tomorrow but it doesn't
matter. I'll bet some GM lawyer made the call to install the inner door.
[g]

I made a slide out for my 2 golf cart batteries 'cause they are taller
than conventional ones. This inner door, IF I had one, would not fit into
my plans. So, we need Arch to run a survey and tabulate the results.

Arch, come back! We'll behave.

One word Correct.

Or do what I did install Hydrocaps and never check your acid level again ok
just once a year and no explosive fumes to deal with. I have them on Golf
cart batteries couldn't be happier.

What are Hydrocaps? That's a new one for me.

Chuck,
they are special caps that the Navy used in submarines to limit fumes from
batteries. They are sold in civilian form from a company in Miami. They run
about $6 a piece. You have to fill out a spec sheet with the type and name
brand batteries you are using. Then they custom make them for your battery.
They are essentially a catalytic converter that converts the fumes back
into H20. Pretty neat huh. I have a 23 ft and the battery compartment was
just big enough for 2 golf cart batteries so I was concerned about fumes and
lifting the bed each time to check on the acid level. I am happy to say
after 14 months of use no need to add water and no corrosive vapors.
Batteries are very clean. I got the idea from a mention of Cinnibar
newsletter and just searched the net to find these people in Miami. Their
telephone number is 305-696-2504. The price includes shipping. I was
worried about corrosion of my Honda generator also from the fumes. So for
what its worth I think they work great . They do have a life span but it
ends up being about 10 years for average use from my figures.

Precisely Emery. Since we are both engineers thought that some would like
to read this?

DILBERT'S SALARY THEOREM

Dilbert's "Salary Theorem" states that "Engineers and scientists can never
earn as much as Business Executives and Accountants."

This theorem can now be supported by a mathematical equation based on
the following two postulates:

Postulate 1: Knowledge is Power.
Postulate 2: Time is Money.

As every engineer knows: Power = Work / Time

Since: Knowledge = Power
Time = Money

Knowledge = Work/Money

Solving for Money, we get:

Money = Work / Knowledge

Thus, as Knowledge approaches zero, Money approaches infinity,
regardless of the amount of work done.

Conclusion: The less you know, the more you make.

Ok Tom - I may be the lone accountant in this group....where were the
emoticons....am I too take this seriously or what? :-))

And I may have one of the few remaining Battery Compartment Covers in
existence, if one of you engineer types would like some spreadsheet datum.

Clarification - I believe that was a Dilbert quote submitted by one of the
Engineers on the net. I was responding from an Accountant's perspective in
defense of the profession, and inapplicability of the theorem for me
personally. :-)

According to the Dilbert Salary Theorem I must be pretty smart! I'm not sure
that is really the case however.

Hey, Chuck, fling that battery compartment door "spreadsheet data" on out
there (Excel format preferred) :-) Dimensions in English or metric system
OK. There never was a door on mine -- which may explain some of the
corrosion on the Onan.
Thanks

I have mailed pictures of the cover to one of the netters to whom I
previously provided dimensions. If anyone else would like to receive, just
holler. The dimensions are from an accountant's perspective;
non-engineering type. :-)
