I do not find a furnace outlet in the side bath on my '74 Glacier with
Suburban furnace. The Maintenance Manual refers to 2 possible
locations for the outlet in the bathroom and shows a duct going over
with aux fan. Do some models not have this feature?

Thanks,

My 1974 Eleganza SE also does not have a bathroom heat vent.

The wife and I are interested in installing a bathroom vent (or something
similar) if it is a fairly 'no-brainer' job that we can handle. So ... I to
am also interested in any information that may be generated from this
message thread.

So far we have installed an under the counter coffee maker, a microwave, TV
Cable and phone connections that originate at the outside power access
opening. We have relocated the storage of the central vacuum hose and
fittings and turned that little closet into a nice pantry with five shelves.
Next, we are going to tackle the installation of the Wineguard Satellite
dish and, maybe, a bathroom heat vent.

William,
In my '77 Kingsley the bathroom heat vent is just a small covered opening
down low beside the toilet. It is not very effective. Mine does have a
helper fan installed in the rear driver's side corner under the bed (couch
in some models). It blows out a storm.

I have already installed the TV cable. The first cabinet behind the drivers
seat contains a small amplifier, my CD changer and an A-B Switch. I fished
RG-6 TV cable and phone lines from there to the rear closet where I could
mount the cable plug and phone jack in the shore line storage area. Works
nice. Next I will mount the Wineguard Satellite dish on the roof and fish
another RG-6 to the other side of the A-B switch.

I need to replace the 12v Amp that with a new one. The amp's TV connection
is for a ribbon cable and not coaxial cable. Any idea where I can buy one?
It has input for speakers, TV, mobile phone charger, CD changer.

Tom, you say you have already installed your TV cable connection. I might
offer this info for anyone else who is considering installing a cable
connection. If you intend to have your TV up front somewhere, I found a good
place to be inside the fuel fill door for the connection. I just removed
the
map pocket, drilled a hole, screwed in the connection and snaked the cable
under the dash where I wanted it. Real easy.

Behind the oven in a regular GMC.

The best advice is to disconnect the noisy little sucker and use a
ceramic cube heater to keep chilblains away.

Careful, Dave. I consider mine just as "regular" as yours and my blower
is under the bed in the LH rear corner.

After all the discussion on bathroom heat, it also needed my bit. On
our coach the aux blower pushes hot air thru a 2 to 3" fabric-covered, wire
reinforced duct. Can't remember the size because I haven't seen it for a
couple of years. The duct is routed along the left side to the rear, along
the back wall, and up the right side to the bathroom to a 2 to 3" opening at
floor level to the right of the toilet. Air was barely warm by the time it
reached the bathroom but the volume seemed adequate.

I insulated the entire duct with a bubble wrap and duct tape. It was a
difficult job getting behind the module on the left side. The air is now
fairly warm when it reaches the bathroom - it will take the coldness off the
white fibreglass given 5 to 10 minutes.

A switch was put on the aux blower so it is only running when needed.

Kathy & Al,
Read with interest your description of the bathroom heat, it is the only one
I have seen that appears to be like ours. The previous owner removed the
kitchen stove and replaced it with large microwave oven. The blower is
behind the oven. Have not seriously tried to remove oven but may be big
chore. May have to remove counter top first. I have kitchen stove, with
oven, and will replace it at that time. It has been very cold here in Mid.
Tenn. and will really need heater if we use motorhome. Thanks for your
comments.
