The entire unit is available at most RV dealers. It is a product which is
carried by Coast Dist. I do believe that the motor is available as a separate
unit, but not 100% sure. Darren

I agree with going to the bigger fan and added light. I just replace my
vent fan assy today with a 14" x 14" vent fan plus light. Sure brighten
up the bath and the ventilation is great. The cost for the replacement
for the little fan assy and a 14 x 14 assy. was only about $10. The
larger fan won out.

Ld,
Just put a 14 x 14 inch skylight in the bath 2 weeks ago fits great and
the light in the bath is just awesome. The power is there from the old
fan. Just center it in the bath ceiling and it will clear the pod. As
I remember there are 2 ribs that will help you get it right. When you
pull the old fan out you can look between the roof and bath module.
Took me about 2 hours to complete.

There is a kit made for just that purpose. I bought one from Norman Dubner
(Baltimore area) 410-747-0215. I don't know if that was the only one he had or
if any more are available. According to the instructions, it just fits. I
didn't want to cut into the roof, so I looked around at the GMC International
convention in Ashville and found a replacement for my broken air vent and sold
the 14x14.

I put in a fantastic fan in the bathroom. It went in easily, and the
cut-out was perfect. Just remove the current one and look inside the
hole. You can see where you can and cannot cut. You do not want to cut
a main support which is on both sides. However, you can put the 14" vent
between the two. It works great. It opens, vents, and closes
automatically. A great addition to my coach.

But, what was the brand, model and where did you get it?

The fan alot of GMC'er are installing is the FanTastic Ceiling Fan.
There are 3 model available. Standard fan (pn 1631) without thermostat
@149, Deluxe fan (pn 7284) with thermostat @174.00 (This is the most
popular, I have used this one to replace the OEM units on the coach.)
and the Automatic Deluxe fan (pn 8980) that opens and closes automatic
and temp control @229. All are 14 x 14 fans. 1-800-626-5944 Prices
are less if your a PC club member.

The fantastic company, (800) 521-0298, has a number of styles. I chose
the one that automatically closes when it gets wet, and opens. It
exhausts and brings air in. It is better as an exhaust fan and it runs
real quiet. They stand behind their product, and when the bezel wouldn't
work because I decided to make it smaller( my fault), they sent me a new
one, no questions asked.

One of the real nice things I like is that it is clear, which means that
during the day you don't need lights, and during the heat, you can
exhaust without the noise.

I really like them and bought two, one for the front of the coach, and
the second in the bathroom.

Hope you find one that works for you.

One word of caution: it does take time for the sensor to respoind and some
time to close the vent. Last summer we got caught by a sudden downpour that
did get the bed wet before the vent closed. It was MUCH better than having
the vent stay open, but we weren't dry.
