In the GMCMM magazine, Bryon Maxwell's Chaparral Company advertises(with
pics) a pair of Air Bag Valves for $45.00 per pair.
Does any one know of any other Air Bag Valves being offered by other
vendors? If so, who, where, and how much?
I would appreciate comments (pro and con, posted or direct email) from
any Air Bag Valve users of any brand .. commercial or home made.
HR,
The 1/4 " mini ball valves used by most everyone who sells kits are
available from Grainger. PN 6CX31. They cost $9.20 each here in San
Diego. If you're using these for shut-off valves dont forget (2) 1/4
elbows, (from the valves to the bag), and also the 1/4 union PN 29238
that goes on the end of the bag. You'll also need the polyethylene
tubing that goes from the bags to the ball valve and the associated
compression fittings and tubing inserts PN 2P207 to connect the two
together. Sounds like a lot but it isn't. It's cheaper to buy the bulk
packages because once tightened, a compression fitting is used up. I
also mounted a mini drier/filter between my compressor and air tank. PN
2Z766 and was about $17.00 here. Works well! I can tell because I'm
always draining the moisture out of it.
Sometimes those package deals are pretty worthwhile since they include
all the parts you need & someone else has done the legwork.
