Bad Master Cylinders(was 80 mm Brake Calipers)

Did anyone ever come up with a plausible explanation why this happens on
some master cylinders and not others? Emery Stora got two "bad" NAPA
master cylinders in a row, but I got a "good" one my first try - at
least it hasn't suffered from "sinking pedal syndrome" yet.

I believe Emery reported that the unit had an internal leak.
