When buying a camera to use as a "rear view mirror", it must be able to
reverse the image. Or you must have a monitor that is capable of that.
Your original rearview mirror is a reverse image. A regular video camera and
TV will give you a very confusing point of view as a "rear view mirror".
You also need a camera with a fairly WIDE angle to be able to see enough of
the road (and toad) that is behind you.

Those who are interested in just a camera with a video output that could be
used on a tv with a video input or on a monitor with a video input. The
camera can be purchased here from a company I know. The cm 600 waterproof
black and white camera ( little larger than 12 guage shotgun shell) and that
costs $110 each. There is also a dome del e-100 E $115 waterproof black and
white.
Both cameras are wide angle and are equiv to 2.8 mm lenses. Can see about
10 feet outward from your back. One rule of thumb is that they must be put
high and pointed down. They should not face the sun as they will burn out.
Color is great during the day, but at night the black and white better.
Ultrk has a combination black and white and color both. Switches back and
forth but it costs $700.
Be careful that any camera that is mounted with a waterproof seal will have
a lower life expectancy.

OEM
can apply to manuf. of custom products. What they are after is that they
do not have to supply customer / end user support to each customer. As a
group I would think we could qualify in that respect. If they require a
business license or a tax number several of us could supply that.
