About a month ago someone had the misfortune to have a rock thrown through
the back windo of their GMC. My recollection is that it was replaced rather
simply(?) by the local glass dealer. I too have suffered a similar fate,
although not from malicious vandals. My questions are:
Was the replacement window tempered safety glass, and if so where was it
ordered from? If not timpered safety glass I presume it was laminated
safety glass like in windshields. True?
Is there a source for new rubber moldings? If not, is there a method for
softing-up the existing molding? (Mine may be ok, but don't know yet.)
Are there special instructions that an installer should know about? I have
some experience with replacing windshields, and family members with the
skill to do so, but any special instructions ahead of time would be helpful.
