what holds the upper section on besides the rivets where it connects to bottom panel.need to put electrical(12v) wires behind it to hook up backup camera and rearview camera.will go from middle clearance lites to backup lites for one, to generator compt for other for power
uses trans/rec to go from back to front display.

An alternative to this is bluetooth. I purchased one fo $84. It is hooked
up to the headlight wireing. I use it
when backing up and also checking the traffic behind me. Purchased through
Amazon from API Power Products,
Part #PKC0BU4.

Are you talking about the body panels??

I read somewhere that the panels are held on with glue. In the early models, you see rivits because the glue didn't always hold the panels like GM
wanted them to. As the glue got better stickum, the rivits were used less.

I thought most people installed their cams inside the rear window. All the wiring was inside.

Of course now there are wireless models. Technology is really moving in.

You don’t need to take out the rivets. Remove the screws from around the window and perhaps a couple on the back panel, take out the seats / bed and the panel will come right out.
I don’t remember but you may have to remove the top cabinet as well. It’s been years since I did it but it came out easily.
