Autozone Dura Last DL7157

Arch,

Santa Barbara has a population of about 150K and maybe 20 parts stores
excluding new car dealerships. Our one and only AZ opened about a year ago
and Advance hasn't got here yet. The price at our AZ is $99.99 plus $30
core charge.

Of course, if I have a mechanic buddy with a resale number buy it for me,
it would likely be 20 percent less.

BTW, is every body posting retail prices?

Keep stirrin' the water, Arch. Fish don't flourish in stagnant ponds.

yep -- here's the info

Daytona Beach Florida is a town of about 65,000 in the
county of Volusia with a county population of 420,000

BUT -- I believe that central Florida has:
- a fairly low cost of living
- lower salary base
- fairly inexpensive housing (avg home 100K ?)
- lots of auto parts stores

Here are some more prices around the Central Florida
area

store name part# retail$ Guar.
- ---------- --------- ------ -----
Autozone dl7157 63.99 life
Discount Auto 7157 74.99 life
Napa 13-4205 187.34 life
213-4205 97.76 1 yr
Advance(Ocala)p7157 70.49 life
Parts Plus 7135/7157 79.99 life
Pep Boys 7157 104.99 life

I belive that the area "cost of living" plus the
amount of competition determines the price??????

hope this helps
