Frank;
Send in your "dumb questions" because it is from them that we ALLl learn
from the vast resources of the GMC net. I've responded a few times with
answers which were not completely accurate and have learned loads from the
corrections by those who know (stated value insurance, vacuum backup for
brakes, "2 speed" transmission, etc).

Frank thanks for the reminder that there are different levels of expertise
on this net. However we sometimes have to strike a happy medium between
starting a new subject and writing pages and pages of prose that many others
already know, and get bored with. It would be impossible to explain most
subjects so they are immediately understandable to all participants. There
is always questions! Many times the subsequent questions asked, make it
much clearer for the others including the one who started the subject.

In my case I would have no idea what the mechanical, electrical, or computer
level experience is of everyone on the net. when we include the lurkers
that almost never post we have an unsolvable equation.

No one should ever be afraid to ask a question no matter how dumb they think
it may sound. If you don't understand than the chances others do not either.
In fact if you ask me a question, maybe I did not understand the subject
quite as well as I thought I did. No one is keeping score on anyone (if
they are, I should have the highest score for stupid questions) and no one
will lose or win. Sometimes these very questions, illuminate the subject so
that everyone can understand.

I am for example an engineer and go about solving a new problem in the same
way I always have for the past 35 years or so. Old adage, "If you are a
hammer, the whole world looks like a nail". I can't remember the last time I
worked on anything that I did not thoroughly research. My wife makes me
painfully aware of that several times a year, when she one day clears all of
the papers, magazines, and books out of my bathroom (technical library). So
far in the last 36 years she has not penetrated my study or the garage
however. Floor will probably cave in one day from the shear weight of the
material in the study.

Frank I took it for granted that everyone knew that since I was replacing
the old charger.inverter, the Truecharge 40 accomplished the same function.

Last time I checked, there were right at 260 subscribers total(real-time
around 115 and digest 145). Hard to figure the number of "lurkers", by
process of elimination - looks like around 30 subscribers do most of the
"yakking".

It's an interesting time to be a GMCer. There are quite a few of the
"old guard" that are either retiring from their GMC businesses, getting
too old to drive these 6 ton beasts, or, sad to say, dying. It will
interesting to see what a GMCMI rally looks like in 10 - 15 years, when
the majority of attendees are high-tech boomers.

You're welcome. I enjoy it as much as anyone.
