One of the recent threads got me thinking about insurance and appraised
values. It bothered me that our coaches supposedly only have a book
value of $5,000. Someone mentioned NADA and so I went to their web
site: http://www.nadaguides.com/ValuesHome.html to see if my 1976 Palm
Beach was listed. It was not. They only have values for 1978. I'll
assume my '76 should be worth close to what a '78 is worth. Am I
correct with this assumption?
This is what NADA says for GMC:
1978
NO LONGER PRODUCING MOTOR HOMES.
Model: PALM BEACH
Length: 26'
Coach Design: Motor Home
Floor Plan: Covers all floor plans
Self-Contained: YES
Low Retail: $12,000
Average Retail: $14,820
High Retail: $16,150
I know that places like Cinnabar do appraisals for coaches that have had
extensive upgrading.
