There are a lot of AOLers on ICQ. They seem to have no probs running it.
Re AIM: it is not possible to set up multi-party chats via AIM if one or
more participants are not AOL subscribers, from what I understand.

The ICQ 99a beta currently making the rounds is *not* an official release.
Run it at your own peril. Many have crashed their machines, lost their
contact lists, lost their subscriber number, etc. etc. when they installed
it. Check out the tales of woe on the ICQ tech forum.

One tip I'd like to offer fellow 'netters is to use a gray background for
your ICQ chat screens. I've found that all of the font colors that users
may choose to use in group chats show up well (except for gray of course). =
=20
