Anyone use the Wagner Paint Eater to remove stripes?

I imagine I'd have to be REAL easy on the non-aluminum surfaces. The stripes on my '73 seem to have been painted on as they are noticeably "higher" than the repaint, which is the common light beige. Original color was that pineapple yellow which was exposed when I removed the beltline strip.

I have used those hard plastic wheels on a grinder for removing paint. They work very well and do not harm the metal.
