Anyone have any experiance with this Fire Extingusher

B'lieve I'd rather AIFF which stays than a gas which falls out of the engine bay. Speak to Bounds.

I have heard good things about them. Not only not having to protect from freezing but also no wiring or piping to hook up.

I believe Bruce Hart and possibly Stan Edwards is using them.

I have been thinking of buying some myself.

Output claimed to be a gas. Might be good in an enclosed area such as fridge or genset compartment, but I suspect rather ineffective in an open area such as an engine bay.

Comparison – Elementhttps://elementfire.com/pages/comparison
ELEMENT LASTS . An E50 model will discharge for 50 seconds; almost 5X the fire fighting time offered by a standard 5lb fire bottle. Nearly 5x the discharge time of a traditional extinguisher

These are not the ones that I was thinking of. Apparently this is a hand held extinguisher.
There was an article in the FMCA magazine of something that looked similar.
You mounted it in the engine or Onan compartment. It released by fire or heat.
That is what I was looking into but have not bought yet.

Hi Emery. Maybe this https://www.blazecutusa.com or https://proteng.com what you are thinking of? I got the Blazecut for in my engine compartment
until I can spring for the automatic FireFight system.
Might look at that element fire though for a quick handheld in addition to my regular extinguisher.

Yes, Deb,

It was the Protend. It looks similar to the hand held one but it can be mounted in the Engine or Onan compartment and is set off by heat.

Thanks

Yes I have a Blazecut in my Onan compartment. How good is it? I can only tell you that after I have a fire to test it. But it should work there
because it is in an enclosed area.
I would be leery of using it around the engine area of a GMC.

On this one we are currently looking at, I have no opinion. I looked it up and is say the suppressant is potassium nitrate. I looked up potassium
nitrate and see it is used for bombs and tree stump removal among other things. I saw nothing about extinguishing fires.
