Disconnect the transmission lines form the radiator and add a new external trans cooler in front of the radiator. I do not have a recommendation on
which one to buy but others here will give you some ideas / recommendations.

Thanks, Billy,

I sent Eugene a note telling him of our on-going problem and asking him to
help by adding instructions to join GMCNet along with Forum. Apparently
the copy I addressed to the list won't appear.

If you add an outboard cooler, look carefully at the connections to it. I had a DeRale oil cooler which simply extended the copper lines out of the
fins a bit and brazed a fitting on it. Over time, the line cracked behind the fitting. Had I been on the highway instead of backing into an RV space
at a campground and seeing the huge puddle of oil, I'd have failed the engine catastrophically, if the DigiPanel was a bit slow. Be sure there's no
way vibration can flex the fittings. This cooler was installed correctly by a GMC shop.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when that happened to my wifes car, the tranny didn't
Last very long even though it was flushed with fresh transmission fluid several times after the new radiator was installed. My brother-in law, a

Going to pull the tranny and take it apart, I'd suggest replacing any and all the parts the the antifreeze could get into like the friction material
of the clutches etc. It maybe a case of do it now or do it shortly.
Sorry to hear about your bad luckt

I as thinking about what the antifreeze contamination could get to. Basically it was everything inside because everything inside is covered with ATF.
I think you are going to have to get someone smarter than me to decide what part could have been damaged. I know on engines they worry about rod,
main and cam bearings. In a trans what parts could have been damaged. I do not know.

Manny has always been the go to guy to call. There may be others.

This happened to me on a Chevy with a TH350 trans. The coolant
dissolved the glue on all of the friction plates in the clutch packs.
Hopefully that didn't happen to you.

On the bright side, the trans itself was fine after a thorough cleaning
and an inexpensive (but time-consuming) replacement of all of the
friction plates.

Applied GMC has a direct fit aluminum radiator you might consider.
