I was wondering if anyone had a American Eagle 16” rim? I need one for my spare tire. Just thought I’d check.
Thanks,
Tom

Lol, oh crap, guess you get the first one that comes up!I've been watching for one myself for 17 years now!
I am hanging on to the old 16.5 rim. Can I still get tires for it?, guess the answer is yes. There has been the odd one, and several sets available over the years. But being in Canada shipping is $$$. I bought a new 16.5 for the OEM steel spare last year and its under a cover so no one really sees it.
Maybe someday I'll come across one while at GMCMI rally.
Firestone Transforce is about the only name brand choice for 16.5" in our size.I am hanging on to the old 16.5 rim. Can I still get tires for it?, guess the answer is yes.
From the resources section:Hi There from the uk,does anyone know the weight differance between the alloy and the original steel rims? just trying to reduce the coach weight as to drive in the uk we need a medical every year. once you get to 70.
We have removed the two AC units complete with cables, electrics etc and also the onan genie this will be replaced with a smaller unit as we dont need AC in the UK (do not get much sunshine!!)
overhauled rear hubs brakes and cables,it was found only 1 wheel cylinder worked!I will send some pictures if any one is interested

Many thanks for that information yep you are right not as much weight saving that i thought,From the resources section:

LM Tire and Wheel puts the ION 167 16x6 wheel at 33 lbs, so a savings of ~7 lbs per wheel. It all adds up, but it's not an earth shattering difference.

Interesting. Amazon says 22 lbs (so I'm throwing that one out), another rim shop says 32 lbs, and another at 33 lbs...ON 167, 16 x 6, 17 x 6
- Sources: Applied GMC, Sirum GMC, Ron's Rims
- Cast aluminum
- 116.01mm hub centered or 130.18mm lug centered
- Weight: ~31 lbs.
That leaves a lot of room for improvement!overhauled rear hubs brakes and cables,it was found only 1 wheel cylinder worked!I will send some pictures if any one is interested
I just did a quick search and some sites are saying the steel rim might be less than 40#. I await your weight tabulation!Interesting. Amazon says 22 lbs (so I'm throwing that one out), another rim shop says 32 lbs, and another at 33 lbs...
Applied is the one I would trust the most so far, but I think I'll be getting out my scale! I'll be curious to see what the 27725 steel rims weigh too. Maybe ~40 is actually 41 or 42?
Hi there again we are only allowed to drive a car or truck up to 3,500kg (about 7,700ibs) on a normal licence,or if like me and passed your driving test before 31st Jan 1997 (like me) the old licence allowed you to drive anything up to 7500KG you need to have medicals every year when you get to 70 (me) or every 3 years when you get to 65.So that's 7x ~9#, 63# less.

Maxime, I'm assuming there's a weight classification/licensing requirement motivating the jettisoning of equipment - how much do you need to lose to have your GMC make the weight cutoff?
