Yea... I'm starting to seriously consider a tow'd.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/data/1/nice_tracker.jpg

A toy for the campgrounds and an escape / backup vehicle for any roadside issues. Mostly for the wife and dogs :)

Thoughts on the over sized wheels and tires ?? Problems for towing ??

Thanks for all of the expertise shared here.

Love the roof rack. Sidekicks/Trackers are great towds. I have an 89 Sidekick 2 door rag top. When I bought it 2 years ago, it also had a 3" body
lift, 3" Old Man Emu suspension lift, and the 33" mudders. Rode and towed like crap. Removed the body lift, sold the 33's, and reverted to OEM
wheels and tires which made a world of difference in ride and tow-ability, without sacrificing more than a few inches in ground clearance at the
diffs, but still is an awesome off-roader as most of the Zuki's advantage is in the short wheel base and minimal overhangs. Woody.

We bought a 96' Tracker in excellent condition. It did not have a body lift but had 15" wheels with tires so large that they would rub the fender
wells in a sharp turn. The Tracker handled terrible at highway speeds and tires were noisy. Never got them balanced right. Those oversize tires were
good in sand but terrible in snow. After a month or two of trying several things to correct handling issues, I finally bought some stock aluminum
wheels and had them powder coated and traded the tires for stock size. That corrected all of the big tire issues and gave the Tracker some road
manners. It may look cool, but that car was never designed for those kind of mods, IMO you may be just buying into a lot of troubles. JMHO

It all depends on how the lift was done, if it was done cheap run away, if done right then I imagine it would be fine, assuming you accept the
downfalls of a small vehicle on big tires. (poor high speed)

I side with Woody. You can sell the wheels, tires, and lift kit to another suck... uh aficionado for enough to pay for a good towbar and brake
system. You might as well stick with the high air intake. It doesn't hurt anything, and if you take it off there's probably a hole in the tin under
it.

Those huge tires will surely slow down your take offs. And the rough tread will be noisy, very.
But if you like the way it drives for the money, I'd go for it. It's an extra vehicle for the fun of it.

Arch took a middle ground and I am loving it. Same dia but much wider Michelin's on matching Alcoa's.
Covered in morning frost at Amana.

1990, could have antique plates in TX, but I drive it too much.
Even the plastic trim parts are still available.
Great for rock crawling in Az, or beach cruising.
Arch once used it to push the GMC out of a wet grass convention spot.
Tows just fine at 70, 75 although I don't do that often.
Arch added the the hardtop, comes off in two pieces.
The back has a folding bench seat for another couple or my long teenage grandsons.
JWID, Thanks Arch

I have a 99 tracker 4wd vert myself and have thought about slightly larger tires with a little more tread.

This looks cool, but keep in mind how twitchy the short WD trackers are already. Any amount of lift, and the risk of finding yourself on your head
goes up exponentially.
