On my 403 I used an Autozone DL7157. 100 Amp. Lifetime warranty. Around a hundred bucks and normally in stock. I have swapped it once in 3+ years
of ownership. No questions asked, receipt in hand.

Just what I did.

That is also known as an Autolite DL7157.
It has been sold by various auto parts suppliers including Checker, Schucks, Kragen, and Murrays.. These companies were part of CSK which was acquired by O’reillys in 2008. Some of those names are still being used but are O’Reillys.
For example in Ft. Collins Colorado there is a Kragen but two blocks away there is an O’reillys. The Kragen store was kept because of its strong customer base with many auto service places.
I had originally bought the Autolite at Checkers over 25 yers ago with a lifetime warranty. It went bad after about 10 years so I brought it to Kragen and thy honored the warranty and replaced it. That one has now been replaced free by O’Riellys two times.

No additional cost to me other than my time to replace it but I am now on my fifth one. O’Riellys has a different name on it but still uses the DL7157 as part of the name.

Yes, you can install the jumper. Make the jumper very thin wire (18 or 16 gauge).

That is what I call a $1.00 combiner. The thin wire is to insure that in the unlikely case that one of the batteries were to short internally, the
voltage and very high current from the other battery will burn the jumper wire in half rather the explode the bad battery.
