Just filled up last week and thought I would try 87 octane. BIG MISTAKE!
Geez, what a dog that sucker is now! I usually buy good stuff but the
station I was at only had 87 or 89 w/ethanol. Thought it was just me... so I
told my uncle. He always uses the lowest price he can find (he's on a low
budget income). He said he filled up yesterday with 91 octane and he was
AMAZED at the difference in his coach's power. At 10 cents a gal more he is
sold now, as I am. Is it just us or is this common knowledge?

Nate,

You know, that is the one big thing I hate about making a motor stronger,
it needs more care and better gas! I figured with the higher comp. pistons
that this would be the trouble.

The motor we just finished here got 8:1 forged pistons for that reason and
I wanted to build a low RPM high torque mill. The guy lives in Ga. so he
is closer and I'll be able to monitor his progerss better.

Got cold here last night, down to 44 this morning, got long johns, sweat
shirt & heavy jaclet on this morning. Hope I don't freeze up!!!

Pulling John Szalays coach out today, the thing looks great, hope he likes it!

See ya,

Hey Jimmy!
Yupper... I was throughly impressed with how bad this thing runs on low
octane. Almost like I popped off a vacuum line that was loose or something
when I was retorquing the manifolds! Geez! Welp, I know better now.
Say, show us some pics of Mr. John's ride. Heard u say you spent time
updating the website on Friday. I'll have to check it out.
How's the 4 day work week coming for ya, big guy?

Nate,

This is the time when I wish I had that digital camers! Spent most of the
day cleaning out Johns coach. Tomorrow is the final buff. Man I wish it
could stay looking this new!

May break down and buy a camera this weekend, you're not the only one
wanting to see some of the stuff over here.

Thanks, the 4 day set up seems to work OK so far. The fog is clearing and
we're getting more stuff out.

You can tell it's winter, a cold spell hit us and everyone gets sick! My
painter was in bed for the past 10 days. Us Florida folks are no match for
weather changes!

Pulling out a 403 motor tomorrow for a rebuild, gonna see if I can pump up
a 403 to giddi up a little better. Let you know how it turns out

The 455 we just finished is getting a new interior so I won't have a chance
to drive it for a time.

Call me Friday, see ya
