David,
Look around for a shop that works on tractor trailers and see if their
equipement can be set up for a 6 wheel alignment. It is important to have
all 6 wheelsat least checked when doing a real alignment, it makes a big
difference.

If you find someone with the equipement but has not done a motorhome
before, give them my # and I'll talk them through set up and the procedures.

First, of course, be sure all steering & suspension components are in good
shape.

Good luck,

Jim Bounds

When I had my six wheel alignment done it blew my mind to watch the
process. Alex Sirum brought out sticks and string and started to set
things up and I had expected lasers, bells and whistles!

He did such a fantastic job with his archaic method, that after 4 + years
and 45k miles AND never rotating the tires, every tire was wearing
exactly the same.

Next week when he installs my new Alcoas, I will have the wheels aligned
again and I suppose he will us the the same method.

Dave, how does the string and stick method work(I know good but how)?

I am slightly ashamed to say I have no idea. Ask Alex 941/763-1121 or
sirum or maybe Jimbo can jump in here cause he surely knows
about this

I ran across some handouts that were in with some other paperwork that came
with my coach. One of them explains how to check your coach's rear wheel
alignment using string. I spent the last couple of hours scanning,
proofing and posting them on my web site. I've still got some photos to
post that goes with them but you can go ahead and look at the texts at:
http://www.web-access.net/~bmassey/oddsnends.html

I've got some stuff on air conditioning too that I'll post when I get time.

Hope ya'll get some good out of it.

Using Netscape, I had no trouble opening as originally stated either. Great
info.

What browser are you using? I'm able to open the url with IE5 or Netscape
4.5. I don't really understand that error message since there's nothing at
all exotic about the page. Just text.

Works fine for me using netscape communicator 4.04 (yes I know there's a
few bugs in that release ...)

Billy, very interesting. Wonder if someone has direct experience with
this method of 6-wheel alignment. Sure looks like it is worth a try.
No near here can do it.

No problem reading the site.
