All right I'm new here and I'm sure this has been beaten to death BUT is anyone using Alcoa #160211 wheels the bore is 4.60 and I know the coach is 4.57 and that's about 1mm? Gateway motorhome company is selling the 160211 4.60 bore and says they have been selling these for 12 years with no problem so if it's been 12 years someone on here must have them right? Thank you for any input. I have a 73 sequoia with bias-ply wheels and I'm wanting to go to a 16" tire. Thanks again.

Jconner,

If you had read over at the other forum, you would have found that many were running with lug centered wheels with no issues at all. A very few have machined spacer rings to center the wheel to not much advantage.

You can buy steel wheels. I searched up OE steel 6*16 rims and I would not suggest that because by the time I located 7 usable wheels and got the powder coated, my cost was not much below alloy.

160211. Is not correct, but many have installed them. They do not match the true hub size and are not lug centered. Can one tell if they are not centered? Who knows for sure.

the latest 16” rim choice is an ion rim. I know many have bought those the past couple years. Rons rims’s has sold many to gmc owners and knows the proper lug nuts. But dang. That might no longer be an option! He shows sold out.

applied has an ion rim that is hub centered, but I understand it is also using conical lug nuts.

I would not go steel unless you get them for free. Heavy,
Normally out of round. I actually have 4 with tires in the shed, And no one wants them. I wont ship- heavy as hell!

16” aluminum rims is one item that adds function curb appeal and increases coach value.

there are some other options in a lug centered rim too like moto metal.

Now really glad after 10 years od seaching I have a complete set of alcoa.

Yes the difference of the 160211 is about half the thickness of a dime. I'm trying to do research and understand the hub centering when it's on 8 lugs because if it moves even the half of a dime is movement right. I'm just wondering if gsteway motorhome has been selling them for 12 years with no problems who's buying them. I've been looking at the Ions not a big fan but it's looking like the only option. Thanks

Yep- 1/2 a dime is movement.
Reach out to dennis hill. He knows the alcoas well. And he is also pretty good at finding good used ones. But they are not cheap.

i also understand there might also be slight difference in some alcoa offsets. Probably not enough to matter. But still different. Owner pointed
That out who was looking at machining centering rings.
