Alcoa wheels

Darren--
My coach came with nice stainless caps with 8 holes for the studs. I don't
know the source but they are out there.

You might be interested that Alcoa will not honor a warranty if stainless
steel hubcaps are used that go under the lug nuts

Looks like the price you have to pay for beauty!!! It is hard to envision a down
side other than the alleged loss of warranty. And such a "loss" would be only on
a claim involving lug nut attachment failure.

Darren:

Bill Harvey (??) , outgoing President of the Western States Chapter, has a
really clean set up on his coach. He uses sst pot lids secured through the
center handle hole by flat head sst machine screws to a nut plate mounted
between 2 wheel studs. I think there's a picture on someone's site, but CRS
prevents my recalling it for you.

Alcoa says that the force against the Alcoa wheel is reduced by the
stainless ring?

Visit the housewares department of a discount store and look for pan lids.

Thanks for the pointers. Not my first idea though. I am looking for a
cover that shows the outline of the bolts and a hub center cover as one
piece. Similar to a cover on a dual wheel vehicle. Wheel Masters or
similar. Darren

I had a set supplied with the Alcoas I got from Gateway. They are made in
China. I Queried Alcoa on them and was advised not to use them for the
reasons that I noted.
