Walter... Perhaps I can help. I live in Albuquerque and I just need
to tell you that we are in the midst of a major construction project
of both I40 and I 25 and the big interchange between the two is the
major part of a $250 Million renovation.

Walter - look forward to seeing you at the rally. Yes, there is a
much better way and with all the construction going on at Albuquerque
you'll want to avoid it. There are long lines by the intersections
of I25 and I40. It'll be this way for 2 years.

When you leave Durango you can go east and then south through Chama,
NM. Then it'll take you past Ghost Ranch where Georgia O'Keefe the
artist lived and then Abique and then down to Santa Fe. There you'll
catch I25 and go east for a few miles and then south on highway 285
which will bring you to Cline's Corner at I40. This is east of
Albuquerque and you'll miss the steep grades east of Alb.

We take this route whenever we head east.

You save several miles and a lot of hills.

285 is two lane at times but a very good road.

I did the Albuquerque to I-40 thing in the spring. Don't let a bad
tranny from your last trip discourage you. My "little" 403 has over
130miles as well. Put that tranny in 2nd gear and be patient.

It will take you longer than the other traffic, but does that matter?
