May I suggest that those of us traveling to Albuquerque
monitor and hail on Channel 19. I havn't had much luck
in contacting passing GMC's (opposite direction --
never had one overtake me) but I always give it a try.
Edie and I are sure looking forward to putting faces
with all you fine folk!!!

Come on Guys, lets show the ol' GMCNet spirit and reach a consensus. Why don't
you make the call, Patrick -- what channel shall we monitor???

Now don't go extending my authority into areas reserved by the federal
bureaucracy! Seriously, I thought at one time we decided to "convoy on
12 and hail on 19". Of course, any consensus here will only apply to
GMCnetters, and we're still a minority in pretty much any other GMC subset
you choose. Nothing wrong with trying to start a trend tho'.

We could steal a trick from the aviation groups that put "Oshkosh Bound"
banners in their windows on their way to Av-Mecca. Maybe something like an
8.5xll sheet printed landscape-style with:

GMCs Convoy On
CB 12

with the first line in 2 inch letters and the second line in 5 inch letters.
It's something each of us could easily pound out on our computers and maybe
print some extras for GMCs we meet along the way. If we do this at all
rallies for a couple years - who knows...

Maybe Jim Bounds could have some printed in dayglo orange to complement the
"my other car is a GMC" bumper stickers he's been handing out.

Well, we are narrowing it down. Ch 12, Ch 14, and Ch 19. I guess one really
needs a scanner!!! Oh well, I'll follow Al's Ch 14 suggestion for this trip but
will flip to 12 if I get no reply.

I always monitor 19. It's SOP.

Only channel I've heard of for convoying GMC's is 12. I'd only drop down
to hail on 12 if I saw more than 1 GMC in close proximity traveling in the
same direction.

I suggest you stay with channel 19 until you get close... like albuq and I will
be monitoring channel 14 which is the one the GMCrs use... But when traveling I
continue to use 19.

waiting for all of you to come... plan on having a great time with 148 other
folks.
