I bought mine from Jim Bounds and had him install it while we weere in
Orlando. Great results for small money! No more clouds (well almost).

How about telling us the rest of the story of your suspension? What kind of
tires? Air pressure? Do you have any road wander? How does wind affect your
ride? Any idea of the size of the dips and your speed?

We got home from the Albuquerque rally last week and am just now able to
see over the pile of accumulated mail. Though I'm sure others have posted
comments about the rally, since we didn't get back on-line 'til just the
other day I'll risk repetition by offering our sentiments. I also have some
questions I wasn't able to ask at the tech sessions.

Regarding the rally, we were both impressed by the organization, the array
of beautiful coaches, the informative tech sessions and by the many
wonderful people we met. Since Albuquerque was our 1st GMC rally, we
haven't the basis for comparison, but can't imagine that rally master Al
Chernoff's running of the rally was typical. He organized a hard working
group of volunteers and seemed to be everywhere attending to the needs of
each of the attendees. We left the rally happy to have been there and with
a "wish list" that will require Lotto success to satisfy. If this was a
typical rally, we'll attend all we can. Thanks again Al. And thanks to your
whole crew.

Now some questions for the collective GMCnet brain trust;

Onan Blower Diverter: We've now suffered the scorn of creating a big cloud
of dust by arriving at a mostly dirt campground with the generator running.
Can someone please tell me where I can get one of those diverters discussed
here several months ago?

Mt. Hood Rally: Several people have mentioned a future rally at Mt. Hood,
Oregon but nothing's mentioned about it in the latest Western States
newsletter. Where can I find more info?

Side to Side Pitching: Our coach seems to pitch from side to side with the
slightest swale in the pavement. Our shocks are new Caspros and the tie rod
bushings are tight. What is my next move - stiffer sway bar? If so, where
can I get one?

Synthetic Oil: We have 50k miles on our rebuilt 455 and use a quart of
10w30 every 700 to 800 miles. If we change to synthetic, is consumption
likely to change? Up or down?

Dash A/C Refrigerant: We'll soon need to recharge the dash a/c and are
thinking we might as well change it from R22 to a refrigerant that will be
readily available. Can I change to "Fridg C", or anything else, without
having to change all the hoses, seals, oil, etc?

If you can answer any of my questions, you might want to title your
response to the specific issue to avoid "thread confusion".

Thanks in advance for any help.

My oil consumption was about one Quart per 500 miles with dino oil. I
switched to Mobile one and it went to about one quart in 900 miles. I
changed oil again before going to Albuquerque and now my consumption seems
to be getting even better. The last trip was 500 miles round trip and it's
only about 1/4 quart low. I'm very pleased with it.

Check rear suspension for pin/bushing wear. IIRC, with shock and air bag
removed, you shouldn't have more than 1/8 inch play at spindle.

Hard to say as results vary. In the case of my Cherokee, which I bought
used with 80k miles, oil consumption wen't from one quart every 2,000 miles
to zip. It was oil spotting on the garage floor and that went away too.
Kind of obvious that it softened up the old seals. It also tends to clean
up "gunk" out of the engine and I've heard that if the leaks in your engine
have been plugged by "gunk", then it'll start to leak once the synthetic
does its work. There's at least some truth to this as the first oil change
out of my Cherokee looked like crude oil and subsequent changes have been
much clearer. Only way to find out for sure in your case is try it. If
consumption gets worse, you can always switch back.

I'm guessing that you mean "R12" and not "R22". Lots of varied opinions on
this one. My personal take is that, if you're only recharging, stay with
R12. If you must open the system to change out the compressor or hoses
anyway, go ahead and convert. Try www.aircondition.com for more info.

Ron Tase had the info on the diverter. He was going to give me some info.
