Two years ago, when we went to Alaska, we did not have any Mosquitoes
because we arrived after their season. We were told that their season was
over by mid July and for us, that proved to be true. We went on all 21
Alaskan roads [bus tour on pipeline road] and had no Mosquito problems. We
sat outside at "night". Others we know who traveled in May and June had both
more rain and lots of Mosquitoes. We came down from the north over the top
of the world highway on July 1 and worked our way south as the north started
to cool. We did have bugs and the birds would have a feast on our nylon
rock/bug catchers when we stopped for the night. The birds cleaned the net
off every night.
