Alarm systems

Hi Marcus,
Thanks very much for the offer.
As a start, could you please give us your views opinions as to the type of
alarm system one should be looking for, perhaps even mentioning some brand
names

What gizzmos would make sense as options, etc.

The next one will be my 3rd time.
The first was a totally remote (no wires) that Camping World sold many moons
ago.
2nd was a wired up unit with shock sensors and sensors on all doors and a
motion sensor inside the coach. Worked great for a year or 2 and then shoddy
workmanship got the upper hand. I think most of the wires and unit are
ripped out by now.

I'd like to try again some day, this time as a do-it-yourself project.

Any help, insight will be greatly appreciated.

I installed a clifford in mine and am very happy with the installation and
the way it works... would recommend them highly.

I installed an IQ 800. It has an additional part to sense glass breakage
in addition to a sensor by the front that senses when someone is near the
windows. With both sensors, plus the ones on the main door, the two
front doors, the propane and the generator, I feel that if anyone opens
any door, the alarm will go off. The alarm is guaranteed for life, and
if you have any problems, they fixed them free. I was so happy I bought
another one for my little car. In addition they sell all sorts of other
additions you can get. One I am going to get is a box that I connect in
the garage and it will open up to three garage doors using the alarm
control for the coach. That way, I don't have to carry any garage door
openers.
