Air pressure switch

Is there a substitute for the air pressure switch 724460 on a 75
PalmBeach or is Cinnabar the only source? After installing a new air
tank I have 2 small leaks. One at where a fitting goes in. That I can
remove and start again. The other came not from where you screw in, but
from the inside of the air pressure switch. One more oppurtunity to
tighten up the system and keep the poor little air pump from working
itself to death. Thanks, guys...

I got one from Grainger. They have the fixed differential type (Grainger #
5B419) and one with an adjustable differential (#6B438.) Page 2895 in their

Wayne,

P.S.

In my previous post I was assuming that your air system is the same as the one
in my '77 (Electrolevel I.)

Thanks, I called Grainger and the fixed type seems to be the closest to GMC's,
but the salesman said that it had a top end of 150 lbs. It may be adjustable
like the Penn unit. The price was less than $14 compared to $36 at Cinnabar.
Any comments about the safety in using the Grainger unit?

The 5B419 is the common replacement for the air switch used by the air
system. By fixed differential it means the 30 range between the set
points. You can set the start down to 90# and the cutoff would be at
120. The range for this switch is a low of 40 psi to a high of 150 psig
but it comes factory set at 95# to 125# which is ok!

Thanks for a knowledgeable answer. I feel better about trying something that isn't
strictly GMC WHEN I get a positive feed-back. I hadn't ordered from Cinnebar yet
and the air pressure switch may be the original for all I know. Thanks again to all
of the people who answered.

Arch,

I bought a sealed solid state unit from Leon Rosser(www.thinkjeep.com) a
Jeep accessory dealer. Pleased with it so far. I think you can find a
picture of it on their web site. On at 85 off at 115 IIRC.
